RIVER ISLAND
River Island is delighted to be sponsoring Graduate Fashion Week for its fifth consecutive year.
We are committed to bringing new and original fashion to the high street, design is at the heart of everything we do, and we like to do it differently. Our 100 strong design team is constantly producing new lines that are rolled out to over 280 UK and International stores on a weekly basis. This makes River Island a fast paced and exciting place to work; and that is why our partnership with Graduate Fashion Week is so successful. With some of the UK’s newest and most talented students showcasing portfolio collections it is the perfect scouting ground for River Island and allows us to provide students with great opportunities to learn and develop. Over the last four years we have employed over 25 graduates as a direct result of their involvement with Graduate Fashion Week.
"We are delighted to be title sponsors of Graduate Fashion Week for our fifth year running. The event has become the primary platform for fresh new British talent to showcase their collections to the fashion industry.
“With an estimated 3000 fashion students graduating every year it’s tougher than ever for individuals to break their way into the industry. Design has always been an integral part of River Island which is why it is so important to support the organizations and universities involved in growing and developing innovative students. Our sponsorship allows us to give students a spring board to start their careers, whilst allowing us the opportunity to source talent for all areas of our own business.”
Richard Bradbury, Managing Director, River Island
The culmination of the four days of Graduate Fashion Week is the prestigious Gala Show where the most outstanding collection is awarded the River Island Gold Award. The lucky winner will receive an impressive £20,000 prize and this is the only Award of its kind within UK fashion education.

Per AQUUM has always made a difference, we have created cutting – edge luxury retreats that fascinate guests, generate media buzz and captivate the public’s imagination. With our existing award winning properties – Huvafen Fushi In Maldives and Desert Palm in Duabi we have already achieved iconic design status – with the only underwater Spa Treatment rooms in the world and the unique – Arabia Avant Garde Desert Palm on a private Polo Estate in Dubai – we have used the following concepts to achieve the reality – Passion, Imagination, Naturally Modern Designs and Vision.
These qualities will be critical in finding the winner of the 2009 Creative Marketing Award.
Mark Carson – Managing Director of Branding / Communications, Per AQUUM comments….
“Per AQUUM has aways been innovative and creative , with it’s properties, marketing and the Dream Calendar (featuring many top designers, DJ’s – DJ Ravin (Buddha Bar fame) created the Huvafen Fushi CD) and we have been delighted to host many AList stars, Royality, and AList Fashion Designers and Models at our properties.
So when the opportunity to sponsor the Creative Marketing Award came up – the synergy was to perfect to refuse. Per AQUUM philosophy is to lead rather than follow and our ambassadors come from the world of fashion, architecture, design, photography, so we are delighted to be working with the new generation and hope to develop the winner and create a bespoke collection in whatever field”
