This June will see the cream of the fashion industry celebrate the best graduates of 2012 at Graduate Fashion Week’s 21st Anniversary. Leading the charge in judging and presenting are some of the most esteemed names in the industry. Daphne Guinness, Suzy Menkes, Christopher Bailey and Fiona Lambert from title sponsor’s George at Asda are all confirmed to judge the prestigious £20,000 George Gold Award.
Other industry personalities who are giving their time to this year’s event include Matthew Williamson, Mary Katrantzou, Jefferson Hack, Livia Firth, Julien Macdonald, Emma Hill, Mark Fast, John Rocha, Bip Ling, Lorraine Candy (Elle), Francesca Burns (Vogue), Jo Elvin (Glamour), Luke Day (GQ Style), Ruth Chapman (Matches), Caroline Burstein (Browns), Sarah Curran (My Wardrobe), Marigay McKee (Harrods) and Ed Burstell (Liberty) to name a few!
Showcasing the very best talent from the UK’s premier fashion and design universities, Graduate Fashion Week is one of the most un-missable events on the calendar for both the international fashion contingent and the general fashion loving public. GFW is a charity and receives no support from the government, it was founded in 1991 by Jeff Banks CBE, Vanessa Denza MBE and John Walford, to unify the many British fashion colleges which at that point showed around the country with no synergy or focal point.
