Chloe Jones was awardest the highest honour at Graduate Fashion Week last week, as she was presented with the George Gold Award by some of the most prestigious individuals in the fashion industry - Suzy Menkes, Daphne Guinness and Fiona Lambert from George at Asda.
Having already being presented with the Womenswear Award, Chloe wowed the Judges with her Graduate Collection- and was presented shortly afterwards with the George Gold Award.
"I think that it is such a privilege just to show at this show anyway so to be nominated and then to win is such an honour, its just amazing. I just want to get straight into industry and Graduate Fashion Week is a great platform to be able to do that, just want to get on with it really!"
Chloe's collection caught the eye of esteemed Judges early on in the week, with Daphne Guinness sighting "the attention to detail that you wouldn't necessarily expect & the enthusiasm" of Chloe's work as a leading factor in their decision making- "It's great to see that still exists", she added.
When asked how she would summarise her collection, Chloe stated: "Faith. Faith in where the collection started. That's one thing i've learned throughout the whole course is that you actually just have to have faith in what you want to do!"
It's this faith, enthusiasm and imagination that spirited Suzy Menkes- Fashion Editor of the International Herlad Tribune and Gold Award Judge. "It's the imagination and the incredible enthusiasm of the students, it's heart lifting", said Suzy, when asked about her Graduate Fashion Week highlights- "Their hard work, these are not just people who are going along, trying to pick up a few ideas, they are people who have thought deeply about what they are doing."
We couldn't agree more! Congratulations to Chloe and Bath Spa University, and to all the Graduates that presented their hard work at Graduate Fashion Week.
